Chimney Caps
The right tool for the right job also applies to chimney caps.  Spark arrestors with lids are the
standard chimney cap designed to deter hot sparks from flying out of the flue. Chimney caps also
help keep the rain out and unwanted animals. Chimney caps are measured by the inside
dimensions of the flue tiles. Multi-flue chimney caps which are larger covering two or more flues
are measured by the overall outside dimensions.
Black Galvanized Chimney Caps
The most common chimney cap with spark screen is the black
galvanized. Designed to keep sparks in and deter rain and animals.
Most black chimney caps are installed with four thumb screws. Place
cap over flue and tighten the thumbscrews finger tight do not over
tighten as you can crack the flue tiles..

Stainless Steel Chimney Caps
Lifetime warranty chimney caps using stainless steel. Over the years
the shiny silver will darken from soot or they can be painted if you
don't like the shiny appearance of stainless steel. Caps are also
installed with thumbscrews to the flue tiles.

Multi-flue Stainless Steel Chimney Cap
Cover several flues at one time with a multi-flue chimney cap. This
screen is permanently mounted with tapcons to the chimneys crown.
The lid on the cap is easily removed for sweeping the chimney.
When measuring make sure you pay attention to the height of the
flue tiles extending from the crown and allow at least five inches
difference to the top of the lid. Example if the flue tiles extend 3
inches above the crown the cap should be a total of 8 inches high.

Windbeater Chimney Cap
Designed for chimneys that suffer from down drafts. The Windbeater
cap has no moving parts. When the wind blows across the chimney
the design of the cap forces the wind to spin creating an updraft. The
smoke is then drawn out of the chimney and not into your home.
Whind beater chimney caps are available in sizes from 3 inches to 12
inches. The Windbeater works well on furnaces and hot water tanks
preventing down drafts that can blow out a pilot light,

Vaccu-Stack Chimney Cap
Eliminates back puffing and down drafts in chimney flues.   With no
moving parts the Vaccu-Stack forces the wind to spin creating an
updraft. This process is called the venturi effect. The Vaccu-stack is
available in several sizes and has models to fit double and triple wall
pipes used in metal zero clearance fireplaces.

Lyemance Top Sealing Chimney Damper
Lyemance dampers mount on the top of the chimney flue tiles with
cement. A stainless steel cable is lowered through the chimney into
the firebox where it mounts on the side wall. The cap is open and
closed with the cable. The lyemance damper is rust-free cast
aluminum. A silicone rubber seal keeps out rain, animals and down
drafts when the damper is closed. This replaces the damper in your
fireplace. Not recommended for use with gas logs that require the
damper to be slightly opened at all times.

Copper Chimney Pots
Chimney pots are a decorative way to raise the chimney higher into
the wind to increase the draft. Chimney pots usually made of clay are
very heavy and hard to raise up to the chimney top, Now chimney
pots are available in copper which is light weight and ages to a lovely
verdigris green. Copper will not crack like the clay chimney pots.

Flue Stretcher Chimney Caps
Flue stretchers do exactly what is says it stretches the flue higher into
the wind to solve drafting problems. Raising a chimney can be very
expensive. Flue stretchers offer an inexpensive solution to drafting
problems. Flue stretcher chimney caps are available in stainless steel
or copper and different heights.
