Gas Fire Pit Tips
1) Make sure you run the proper size gas line to ensure a solid high
flame. Check with your local gas company for the gas pressure
needed to run 190,000 BTU's, determine how long you are running
the gas line and they will tell you what size line you need. I.E. The
longer the distance the larger the line.
2) If burying the line under ground make sure you run copper to
prevent corrosion.
3) Make sure you provide proper drainage in the bottom of the fire pit.
4) The fire pit doesn't have to be very deep. The burner can sit on
the bottom with only one inch of sand or lava rock covering the
burner. Any more than an inch will restrict the flames.
5) Installing the burner make sure the holes are pointing downward.
This will prevent water and dirt from clogging the burner.
6) It is not recommened to cook over the gas fire pit. The fire ring is
stainless steel but it can rust if exposed to salt. Dripping meat juices
or barbecue sauces contain salt. Most burners on barbecue grills
only last a few years because of the salt.
